Description:
The 30-H12 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD90.2 (Thy-1.2), a GPI-linked membrane molecule expressed by mouse thymocytes, mature T cells, and neurons in CD90.2-expressing strains (BALB/c, CBA, C3H, C57BL/6, C58/J, SJL, etc.). Strains expressing CD90.1 (PL, AKR) do not stain with 30-H12. CD90 is involved in regulation of adhesion and signal transduction by T cells.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis, immunohistochemical staining of frozen sections, and in vivo/in vitro depletion. For functional assays, use the Functional Grade purified 30-H12 (Product #16-0903).

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number can range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test and should be titrated for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD90.2 (Thy-1) antigen is a GPI-linked glycoprotein of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. Expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts. Plays roles in cell-cell or cell-ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other neural events. CD90.2 is an 18 kDa plasma membrane antigen expressed by hematopoietic and neural cells, connective tissue, fibroblast and stromal cell lines, and tumor endothelial cell lines. In mice, CD90.2 is expressed on all thymocytes and peripheral T lymphocytes.
