Product Specific Information

This antibody recognizes heavy chain human skeletal myosin (fast-twitch type II isomyosin). It does not stain cardiac or smooth muscle myosin.
For antigen retrieval, use citrate buffer (pH 6.0) at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Store as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening vial and keep at 4°C.


Target Information

Myosin is a major contractile protein that converts chemical energy into mechanical energy through ATP hydrolysis. It is a hexameric protein composed of a pair of myosin heavy chains (MYH) and two pairs of nonidentical light chains.
Myosin heavy chains are encoded by a multigene family. In mammals, at least ten different MYH isoforms have been described from striated, smooth, and nonmuscle cells. These isoforms show spatial and temporal regulation during development.
