Target Information
Calreticulin (CALR) is a calcium-binding chaperone that promotes folding, oligomeric assembly, and quality control in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) via the calreticulin/calnexin cycle. As a lectin, Calr interacts transiently with most monoglucosylated glycoproteins synthesized in the ER. It also interacts with the DNA-binding domain of NR3C1 to mediate nuclear export and may regulate maternal gene expression and oocyte maturation through calcium homeostasis control.
