Product Specific Information

• Reconstitute antibody with 50 µL of double distilled water (DDW).
• The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
• For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

VRL-1 (TRPV2) is a calcium-permeable, non-selective cation channel showing outward rectification. It is regulated by growth factors such as IGF1, PDGF, and morphogenetic neuropeptides.
Unlike TRPV1, VRL-1 does not respond to capsaicin, acid, or moderate heat but is activated by high temperatures (~52°C).
Within sensory ganglia, VRL-1 is expressed in medium- to large-diameter neurons, suggesting its role in high-threshold heat response.
VRL-1 transcripts are also found outside the sensory nervous system, implying activation by other stimuli.
VRL-1 is one of six members of the vanilloid-like TRP-channel family, now known as the TRPV family.
