It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
This antibody has specificity for Human PERP1/MZB1.
Target Information
MZB1 associates with immunoglobulin M (IgM) heavy and light chains and promotes IgM assembly and secretion. It may act as a molecular chaperone or oxidoreductase, displaying low oxidoreductase activity. Isoform 2 may be involved in regulation of apoptosis.
MZB1 helps to diversify peripheral B-cell functions by regulating Ca²⁺ stores, antibody secretion, and integrin activation. It also acts as a hormone-regulated adipokine/proinflammatory cytokine implicated in chronic inflammation, affecting cellular expansion and insulin response in adipocytes, and may play a role in the onset of insulin resistance.
