MA1-771 contains 100 µg of in vitro produced, protein A purified antibody (1 mg/mL) in PBS containing 1 mg/mL BSA and 0.05% sodium azide.
MA1-771 detects MMP-1 from human samples.
MA1-771 has been successfully used in Western blot applications.
By Western blot, MA1-771 detects a ~50 kDa band representing MMP-1 from A431 and K562 cell lysates.
The MA1-771 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues C(366) S S F G F P R T V K H(376) of human MMP-1.

Target Information

Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis.
Most MMPs are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases.
This gene encodes a secreted enzyme which breaks down the interstitial collagens, types I, II, and III.
The gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes which localize to chromosome 11q22.3.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
