Product Specific Information
MA1-06813 detects reticulon-1A (NSP-A) and reticulon-1B (NSP-B) in human, rabbit, and non-human primate cells.
This antibody has been successfully used in Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, FACS, and immunohistochemistry (paraffin) procedures.
By Western blot, it detects a ~135 kDa band representing reticulon-1A and a ~45 kDa band representing reticulon-1B.
The immunogen used is the small cell lung cancer cell line NCI-H82.
Target Information
Reticulon-1 (formerly NSP, Neuroendocrine-Specific Protein) is specifically expressed in neural and neuroendocrine tissues.
The NSP gene is mapped to human chromosome 14q21–q22 and encodes three overlapping proteins:
- Reticulon-1A (NSP-A): ~135 kDa, occurs in various isoforms depending on phosphorylation state, reliable marker for neuroendocrine differentiation in lung cancer diagnosis.
- Reticulon-1B (NSP-B): ~45 kDa phosphoprotein, restricted to lung cancer cell line NCI-H82, not found in human tissues.
- Reticulon-1C (NSP-C): ~23 kDa, non-phosphorylated, found with Reticulon-1A in small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) but not in non-SCLC.
