Description:
The B1.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human gamma delta TCR complex. The γδ TCR is expressed by a small subset of T cells in the thymus, peripheral lymphoid tissues, intestinal epithelium, and epidermis. The exact specificity and function are not fully understood, but these cells are suggested to recognize bacterial ligands and some tumor cells, contributing to immune regulation and response during infection. This antibody serves as a phenotypic marker for γδ TCR-expressing T cells.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage is 5 µL (4 µg) per test in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

TCR gamma/delta (T-cell receptor γδ) are specialized T cells that help the immune system distinguish foreign from self-peptides presented by MHC molecules. They are linked to autoimmune diseases and tumor recognition. These cells are primarily found within epithelial tissues, showing less TCR diversity and unique antigen recognition compared to αβ T cells. Subsets of γδ T cells exhibit antitumor and immunoregulatory activity.
