The monoclonal antibody CSTEM31 reacts with human Protocadherin-1 (PCDH1), also known as cadherin-like protein 1.
This antibody has been reported for use in immunocytochemical staining and flow cytometric analysis.
(Fluorochrome-conjugated CSTEM31 is recommended for use in flow cytometry.)
Applications Tested:
- Immunocytochemistry: ≤ 5 µg/mL on formaldehyde-fixed and permeabilized human iPSCs
- Flow Cytometry: ≤ 0.5 µg/test on human iPSCs
A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL.
Cell number should be determined empirically and can range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.
Target Information
Protocadherin 1 (PCDH1), also known as cadherin-like protein 1, is a transmembrane protein involved in cell-cell adhesion.
It belongs to the delta1-protocadherin family, which includes protocadherin-1, -7, -9, and -11(X/Y).
These proteins possess seven extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic domain, and can exist in two isoforms (short and long).
Expression and Function:
- Expressed in various tissues and organs such as brain, spinal cord, peripheral ganglia, inner ear, hair follicles, kidney, and reproductive organs.
- Plays a role in early development and mature tissues.
- Identified as a susceptibility gene for Bronchial Hyperresponsiveness in humans.
- Expressed on human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs).
