Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This affinity purified antibody is directed against human ERK1 protein. Cross reactivity is expected to occur with human, mouse, and rat based on sequence identity of the peptide immunogen. This antibody does not react with the ERK2 isoform.
Target Information
MAPK3 (ERK1) is a serine/threonine kinase that acts as an important activator of p90, RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, and is involved in the MAPK pathway. ERK1 is widely expressed and regulates meiosis, mitosis, and post-mitotic functions in differentiated cells. Various stimuli, including growth factors, cytokines, virus infection, GPCR ligands, and transforming agents, activate the ERK1 and ERK2 pathways. ERK1 participates in signaling cascades that regulate proliferation, differentiation, and cell cycle progression in response to extracellular signals. Upon activation by upstream kinases, ERK1 translocates to the nucleus to phosphorylate nuclear targets. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different ERK1 isoforms have been described.
