Product Specific Information

The 1B1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD1d, a 48 kDa glycoprotein structurally homologous to MHC class I molecules. CD1d associates with β2-microglobulin and functions similarly to MHC class II. The 1B1 antibody detects CD1d at varying levels on mouse leukocytes and recognizes β2m-associated CD1d.

Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes; ≤ 0.5 µg/test in 100 µL final volume. Optimal titration recommended.

Fluorochrome Information:
Super Bright 436 is excited at 405 nm (violet laser) and emits at 436 nm. Recommended filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent.

When using multiple Super Bright conjugates, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information

CD1d is a heavy chain associated with β2-microglobulin on cortical thymocytes. It is a unique group 2 member of the CD1 family, structurally related to MHC proteins, forming heterodimers with β2-microglobulin. CD1 molecules present lipid and glycolipid antigens to T cells. The human genome contains five CD1 family genes on chromosome 1, differing in localization and ligand specificity. CD1d localizes to late endosomes and lysosomes via a cytoplasmic tail motif. Diseases associated include Mycobacterium Malmoense and autoimmune disorders.
