Target Information

Synapse-Associated Protein 102 (SAP102) is a plasma membrane-associated protein found in synaptic junctions. It contains three PDZ domains, an SH3 domain, and a Guanylate Kinase (GuK) domain. These domains are involved in receptor and channel clustering, contributing to neuronal plasticity. SAP102 participates in clustering NMDA receptors and shaker-type potassium channels at the synaptic membrane of CNS neurons. Other neuronal proteins sharing the T/SXV motif, such as β1 adrenergic receptor and certain serotonin receptors, may also interact with SAP102. Additionally, neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) associates with SAP102 via PDZ–PDZ domain interaction.
