Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons and are composed mainly of three proteins: NF‑L, NF‑M, and NF‑H. NF‑H contributes to maintaining neuronal caliber and plays a significant role in mature axons. It is also implicated in neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
