For conjugation experiments, an additional desalting step is recommended (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

O6-Methylguanine-DNA Methyltransferase (MGMT) is a DNA repair protein that contributes to tumor cell resistance against chemotherapeutic alkylating agents.
It protects normal cells from genotoxic and carcinogenic DNA alkylation effects by removing alkyl groups from the O6 position of guanine.
