Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems clone antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, followed by screening of individual clones to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information
The cytochrome c oxidase (COX) family functions as the final electron donor in the respiratory chain, driving a proton gradient across the inner mitochondrial membrane and resulting in the production of water. The mammalian COX apoenzyme is a dimer composed of 13 subunits (mitochondrial and nuclear).
COX5 is the heme A-containing chain of the oxidase family, converting one molecule of oxygen and four molecules of hydrogen into two molecules of water. Two isoforms exist: COX5a (aerobic isoform) and COX5b (hypoxic isoform).
- High oxygen levels → COX5a transcription up-regulated
- Low oxygen levels → COX5b transcription increased to optimize COX turnover
