Target Information
LYK5 (STE20-related Adaptor Protein, STRAD; FLJ90524)
Gene locus: 17q23.3. Members of the STE-20-like kinase family stimulate MAPK pathways by directly activating MAPKKK. STRAD is a pseudokinase with a STE-20-like kinase domain but lacks several catalytic residues. It specifically binds to LKB1, regulating its tumor suppressor activity and subcellular localization. The STRAD–LKB1 interaction results in phosphorylation of STRAD and enhanced autophosphorylation of LKB1.
