Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Alpha actinins belong to the spectrin gene superfamily, which includes various cytoskeletal proteins such as alpha and beta spectrins and dystrophins.
Alpha actinin is an actin-binding protein with diverse roles across cell types.
- In nonmuscle cells: localized along microfilament bundles and adherens-type junctions, binding actin to the membrane.
- In muscle cells (skeletal, cardiac, smooth): localized to the Z-disc or dense bodies, anchoring myofibrillar actin filaments.
