Product Specific Information
The ICRF44 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD11b, a 165 kDa adhesion molecule. CD11b, associated with integrin beta2 (CD18), is expressed on monocytes, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, and a subset of NK cells. It serves as a receptor for ICAM family members (CD54, CD102, CD50) and iC3b, mediating crucial cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions.
This antibody crossreacts with baboon, chimpanzee, cynomologous monkey, and Rhesus macaque.
Reported applications: Flow cytometric analysis.
Tested applications: Pre-titrated for flow cytometry of human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.5 µg)/test.
Super Bright 436 can be excited with a violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 436 nm. Recommended filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent.
When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information
CD11b (integrin alpha-M, ITGAM) forms a heterodimer with CD18, known as Mac-1 or CR3. It is expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells, and microglia. Functions as receptor for ICAM-1, ICAM-2, ICAM-4, CD14, CD50, CD23, heparin, iC3b, fibrinogen, and Factor X.
Expression levels vary among tissues and increase during monocyte maturation. Commonly used as a microglial marker.
Associated diseases include systemic lupus erythematosus and ITGAM-related susceptibility to autoimmune disorders.
