Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF‑kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene on chromosome 11 in humans. Also known as RelA, it belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms heterodimers with p50 or p52 subunits of NF‑kB.
Upon TNF‑α receptor binding, IKK phosphorylates IκB, leading to its proteasomal degradation, thereby activating NF‑kB. NF‑kB p65 plays a critical role in transcription of the immunoglobulin κ (kappa) gene in mature B‑lymphoid cells.
