Target Information
OLFM3 (olfactomedin 3), also known as NOE3, is a 478-amino acid protein that interacts with myocilin. Myocilin is an extracellular protein involved in the actomyosin system and regulation of intraocular pressure. OLFM3 is a secreted glycoprotein containing an olfactomedin-like (OLF) domain of approximately 260 amino acids. It localizes to the Golgi apparatus and is highly expressed in eye and brain tissues. Mutations in the OLFM3 gene may lead to severe glaucoma, characterized by increased intraocular pressure and vision loss.
