Target Information
This gene encodes a protein with a conserved RNA-binding motif. The protein is mainly localized in the nucleus but also found in the cytoplasm. It associates with mRNAs produced by splicing, serving as a marker of intron presence and linking pre- and post-mRNA splicing events. The RBM8B locus is now considered a pseudogene. Two alternative start codons generate different protein forms, and multiple polyadenylation sites are used.
