Target Information
The ERP29 gene encodes a reticuloplasmin, a protein located in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER).
This protein shows sequence similarity to the protein disulfide isomerase family but lacks the thioredoxin motif, suggesting it does not function as a disulfide isomerase.
ERP29 forms dimers and is believed to assist in the processing of secretory proteins within the ER.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
