Thrombopoietin (TPO, THPO, MPL ligand, megakaryocyte colony-stimulating factor)은 혈소판 생성을 조절하는 주요 인자로, 골수 내 거핵세포 계열로 분화된 조혈세포에 작용합니다.
TPO가 수용체 MPL(CD110)에 결합하면 JAK/STAT, MAPK, PI3K/AKT 신호 경로를 통해 거핵세포의 증식 및 분화를 유도하고, 결과적으로 혈소판(thrombopoiesis)을 생성합니다.
Thrombopoietin은 간에서 지속적으로 생산되며, 예측 분자량은 약 38 kDa입니다.
