Target Information

RYBP is a component of the Polycomb group (PcG) PRC1-like complex, which maintains transcriptional repression of genes such as Hox throughout development.
This complex mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A (Lys-119), influencing chromatin remodeling and gene expression.
RYBP contributes to X-chromosome silencing in females, regulates TP53 stability by inhibiting its ubiquitination, and may influence apoptosis through degradation control of proteins like FANK1.
It may also act as a transcriptional repressor and play a role in tumor suppression, particularly in breast cancer by down-regulating SRRM3.
