Target Information
SATB2는 핵 매트릭스 또는 스캐폴드 관련 영역에서 DNA에 결합하는 단백질입니다. 이 단백질은 이중 가닥 DNA의 당-인산 구조를 인식하며, MARs 영역에 결합하여 국소적인 크로마틴 루프 재구성을 유도합니다. 또한 코리프레서(HDACs) 및 코액티베이터(HATs)를 프로모터나 인핸서로 직접 유도하여 전사 조절에 관여합니다.
SATB2는 상층 뉴런(UL1) 특이적 유전자 프로그램의 개시와 심층 뉴런(DL) 및 UL2 특이 유전자의 비활성화에 필수적이며, BCL11B 발현을 조절함으로써 대뇌 피질 발달 과정에서 corticocortical 연결의 조절 인자로 작용합니다.
SATB2 유전자의 변이는 구개열(Cleft Palate Isolated, CPI)과 관련이 있습니다.
