Target Information
N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors are ionotropic glutamate-gated ion channels involved in long-term potentiation, which enhances synaptic transmission efficiency and is associated with memory and learning. NMDA receptor channels consist of the NMDAR1 (GRIN1) subunit and one or more NMDAR2 subunits (GRIN2A, GRIN2B, GRIN2C, GRIN2D). Alternatively spliced transcript variants encode different isoforms of this gene.
