Target Information
Mitoferrin 2는 미토콘드리아 내 철(Fe2+) 운반을 매개하는 단백질로, 헴 단백질의 헴 합성과 비적혈구 세포에서의 Fe-S 클러스터 조립에 필요합니다. 미토콘드리아로 전달된 철은 ferrochelatase에 의해 protoporphyrin IX에 Fe(2+)를 결합시켜 헴을 합성하는 과정에 관여합니다.
