Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- For staining of formalin-fixed tissues, heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95 °C, then cool at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
CD79a is a disulfide-linked heterodimer that includes the B29 (CD79b) polypeptide. It forms part of the B lymphocyte antigen receptor complex with immunoglobulin, associating with Ig-alpha and Ig-beta, which are essential for B-cell receptor expression and function.
CD79a is expressed from the pre-B cell stage through the plasma cell stage, where it is located intracellularly. It is present in most acute leukemias of precursor B-cell type, B-cell lines, B-cell lymphomas, and some myelomas, but not in myeloid or T-cell lines.
Diseases associated with CD79a include Agammaglobulinemia 3 and Agammaglobulinemia, Non-Bruton type.
