Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Urotensin II is an active cyclic heptapeptide highly conserved from lamprey to human. It functions as a vasoconstrictor and is expressed primarily in brain tissue. Despite name similarity, this gene is not homologous to urocortin, a member of the sauvagine/corticotropin releasing factor/urotensin I family. Most of the proprotein is cleaved to generate the mature peptide.
