CEA Cell Adhesion Molecule 6 (CEACAM6) belongs to the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family, which includes GPI-anchored cell surface glycoproteins. These molecules function in cell adhesion and serve as tumor markers in serum immunoassays for carcinoma detection. CEACAM6 influences tumor cell sensitivity to adenovirus infection and acts as a receptor for adherent-invasive E. coli adhesion to ileal epithelial cells in Crohn’s disease patients.
