Putative Polycomb group (PcG) protein. PcG proteins form multiprotein complexes required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of homeotic genes during development. They act via histone methylation, altering chromatin expressibility. CLNS1A is involved in transcriptional regulation mediated by ligand-bound nuclear hormone receptors such as PPARG, functioning as a coactivator to enhance adipocyte differentiation through recruitment of acetylated and methylated histone H3.
