Target Information

CXCR5 (C-X-Chemokine Receptor Type 5, CD185), also known as Burkitt lymphoma receptor 1 (BLR1), belongs to the CXC chemokine receptor family.
It is a G protein-coupled seven-transmembrane receptor for chemokine BLC and is specifically expressed in Burkitt’s lymphoma and lymphatic tissues such as lymph node follicles and spleen.
CXCR5 plays an essential role in B cell migration and is expressed in various human and animal tissues including blood, salivary gland, lymph nodes, spleen, and brain.

G-protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) constitute one of the largest families of signaling molecules, characterized by seven membrane-spanning helices.
They exist in active and inactive forms and interact with diverse ligands to mediate cellular signaling via G-proteins and downstream effectors.
GPCR regulation mechanisms have significant implications in physiology and pharmacology, leading to the development of major drugs such as Zyprexa and Claritin.
