eIF4A3는 DEAD box 단백질 패밀리에 속하는 RNA 헬리케이스로, Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) 모티프를 특징으로 합니다. RNA 2차 구조 변형이 필요한 다양한 세포 과정(번역 개시, 핵 및 미토콘드리아 스플라이싱, 리보솜 및 스플라이소솜 조립)에 관여합니다. 또한 배아 발생, 정자 형성, 세포 성장 및 분열과 같은 과정에도 관련이 있습니다. eIF4A3는 핵 매트릭스 단백질로, eIF4AI 및 eIF4AII와 높은 아미노산 서열 유사성을 보입니다.
