PAK2 (serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK2)는 세린/트레오닌 키나아제로, 세포골격 조절, 세포 이동성, 세포주기 진행, 세포자멸사 및 증식 등 다양한 신호전달 경로에 관여합니다.
이 단백질은 소형 GTPase인 CDC42 및 RAC1의 하위 효과기로 작용하며, 활성화된 CDC42 및 RAC1이 결합하면 구조적 변화와 여러 세린/트레오닌 잔기의 자가 인산화가 유도됩니다.
PAK2의 전체 길이 단백질은 세포 생존 및 성장 촉진에 기여하며, PAK 단백질 계열은 Rho GTPase와 세포골격 재조직화 및 핵 신호전달을 연결하는 중요한 매개체입니다.
