These kits provide a fast, reliable, and convenient method to sequentially isolate and concentrate exosomal RNA and free-circulating RNA from urine samples. The purification is based on spin column chromatography using Norgen’s proprietary resin. The RNA isolated is of high integrity and suitable for downstream applications such as RT-qPCR, RT-PCR, Northern blotting, RNase protection, primer extension, and expression array assays.

Storage Conditions and Product Stability

All buffers should be stored tightly sealed at room temperature.
Stable for 2 years after shipping.
If salt precipitation occurs, warm Lysis Buffer A for 20 minutes at 60°C.

Important Note

Urine samples stored at -70°C, -20°C, or 4°C may develop precipitates due to protein aggregation, which can reduce exosome recovery and RNA quality.
Use Norgen’s Urine Preservative for optimal sample preservation.
Preserves nucleic acids and proteins in urine for over 2 years at room temperature without degradation.

Norgen’s Maxi Kit (Cat# 59400) was used to isolate exosomal RNA from urine volumes ranging 11–30 mL. Two microlitres of RNA were used in RT-qPCR to assess urinary exosomal miR-30a amplification.
(A) miR-30a signal decreases linearly with increasing sample input.
(B) Recovery rate exceeds 90%, demonstrating excellent linearity.

Norgen’s Maxi Kit (Cat# 59400) was used to isolate free-circulating RNA post-exosome isolation from urine volumes 11–30 mL. Two microlitres of RNA were used in RT-qPCR for urinary miR-21 analysis.
(A) miR-21 signal decreases linearly with increasing sample input.
(B) Recovery rate exceeds 90%, confirming consistent performance.
