This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal candidates for production.

This antibody has specificity for Human CD146/MCAM.
Target Information
CD146 (MCAM) is an integral membrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed at cell-cell junctions in endothelial cells and other normal and malignant cell types. CD146 functions as a calcium-independent cell adhesion molecule and may act as a signal transduction molecule through Fyn kinase recruitment and tyrosine phosphorylation of intracellular proteins involved in actin cytoskeleton assembly.
Biological roles of CD146:
- Cell adhesion and endothelial monolayer cohesion
- Interaction with vascular elements enhancing tumor spread
- Possible role in neural crest cell adhesion during embryonic development
- Acts as a surface receptor triggering FYN and PTK2 phosphorylation and transient calcium increase
