This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%) to avoid contamination.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

This antibody has specificity for Human CD146/MCAM.
Target Information
CD146 (MCAM) is an integral membrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed at cell-cell junctions in endothelial cells and other normal and malignant cell types. CD146 functions as a calcium-independent cell adhesion molecule and may also act as a signal transduction molecule recruiting Fyn kinase, leading to tyrosine-phosphorylation of intracellular proteins involved in actin cytoskeleton assembly.
CD146 plays a role in:
- Cell adhesion and cohesion of endothelial monolayers
- Interaction of melanoma cells with vascular elements, enhancing metastasis
- Neural crest cell adhesion during embryonic development
- Surface receptor-mediated tyrosine phosphorylation of FYN and PTK2, with transient intracellular calcium increase
