KCNN3는 칼슘 활성화 칼륨 채널을 암호화하는 KCNN 패밀리의 구성원으로, 신경세포의 활동 전위 후 과분극(AHP)에 관여합니다. 이 단백질은 막 과분극 이전에 활성화되어 신경 흥분성을 조절하며, 전압 비의존적 칼슘 활성화 채널을 형성합니다. 세 개의 칼모듈린 결합 서브유닛과 함께 작용하여 시냅스 후 과분극의 느린 성분에 기여합니다.
