Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of SYK only when phosphorylated at Tyrosine 323.
Target Information
Spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK), along with ZAP70, are cytoplasmic tyrosine kinases considered potential drug targets for allergic disorders and autoimmune diseases. SYK may also play a role in cancer. Upon B cell antigen receptor (BCR) or high-affinity IgE receptor (FcεRI) stimulation, Syk translocates to the plasma membrane and phosphorylates downstream adaptor proteins, initiating signaling pathways such as calcium mobilization, cytoskeleton remodeling, and gene transcription. Syk binds receptor assemblies through SH2 domain interactions with ITAM motifs phosphorylated by Src-family kinases, which also activate Syk via phosphorylation of its activation loop.
