Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles responsible for protein synthesis, composed of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits contain 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins. The RPS16 gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is part of the 40S subunit and belongs to the S9P family. It is localized in the cytoplasm, and multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
