Product Specific Information

The eBio299Arm monoclonal antibody is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.

Applications Reported:
Used in immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells and mouse splenocytes. Use the isotype control at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.

Fluorophore Information:
eFluor® 660 replaces Alexa Fluor® 647. It emits at 659 nm and is excited by a red laser (633 nm). Ensure your instrument can detect this fluorochrome.
Excitation: 633–647 nm; Emission: 668 nm; Laser: Red Laser.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Isotype control antibodies act as negative controls to distinguish non-specific background signal from specific antibody binding. They have no relevant antigen specificity and are used to assess background staining caused by Fc receptor binding, non-specific protein interactions, or autofluorescence.
They are primarily used in flow cytometry but also applicable in ChIP, IHC, and gel shift assays.
For accurate comparison, isotype controls should match the species and isotype of the primary antibody and, if directly labeled, use the same fluorochrome.
