Target Information
PAX6 유전자는 Drosophila melanogaster의 prd 유전자와 상동성을 가지는 paired box gene 6을 인코딩합니다. 이 단백질은 paired box domain과 homeobox domain을 포함하며, 두 도메인은 DNA 결합 및 전사 조절 기능을 가집니다. PAX6는 신경계 및 안구 발달 과정에서 발현되며, 돌연변이는 무홍채증(aniridia) 및 Peter’s anomaly와 같은 안과 질환을 유발할 수 있습니다. 대체 스플라이싱 전사체가 보고되어 있으며, 동일하거나 다른 아이소폼을 생성할 수 있습니다.
