Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Catalyzes the hydrolysis of sphingomyelin to form ceramide and phosphocholine. Ceramide mediates cellular functions such as apoptosis and growth arrest and can regulate these processes independently. Also hydrolyzes sphingosylphosphocholine. Regulates the cell cycle by acting as a growth suppressor in confluent cells and is likely involved in postnatal development, bone, and dentin mineralization.
