For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD63 (LAMP-3, lysosome-associated membrane protein-3) is a glycoprotein of the tetraspanin family, localized in late endosomes, lysosomes, and secretory vesicles of various cell types.
CD63 is also found on the plasma membrane following cell activation and is widely used as a basophil activation marker. In mast cells, CD63 expression can occur without activation.

CD63 interacts with integrins, influencing phagocytosis and cell migration, and participates in H/K-ATPase trafficking and ROMK1 channel regulation. It also functions as a T-cell costimulatory molecule.

Expression of CD63 can serve as a prognostic marker in early-stage carcinomas. It is expressed on activated platelets and translocates to the plasma membrane after activation. CD63 is also found in monocytes, macrophages, and weakly in granulocytes, B, and T cells.

CD63 is identical to the melanoma-associated antigen ME491 and the platelet antigen PTLGP40.
Diseases associated with CD63 dysfunction include melanoma and Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome.
