Target Information
SM-MHC (Smooth Muscle Myosin Heavy Chain) is a cytoplasmic structural protein that forms a major component of the contractile apparatus in smooth muscle cells. Its expression is developmentally regulated, appearing early in smooth muscle development, and is specific to smooth muscle tissue. Two isoforms have been identified: MHC-1 and MHC-2.
