Target Information
The RBMS3 gene encodes an RNA-binding protein belonging to the c-myc gene single-strand binding protein family. These proteins contain two ribonucleoprotein consensus sequences (RNP-CS) with conserved motifs RNP1 and RNP2, essential for DNA binding. They are involved in DNA replication, gene transcription, cell cycle progression, and apoptosis.
RBMS3 primarily localizes in the cytoplasm, suggesting a role in RNA metabolism regulation rather than transcription. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
