Mono-ADP-ribosylation is a posttranslational modification affected by bacterial toxins such as cholera, pertussis, and heat-labile enterotoxins of E. coli.
The amino acid sequence of ART1 includes hydrophobic N- and C-terminal regions typical of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored proteins.
