FOX 전사인자는 발달 및 성체 단계에서 조직 및 세포 유형 특이적 유전자 전사를 조절하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다.
Forkhead box P1 단백질은 DNA 결합 및 단백질-단백질 결합 도메인을 모두 포함하며, 여러 종양 유형에서 결손되어 종양 억제 인자로 작용할 수 있습니다.
이 유전자는 종양 억제 유전자가 포함된 것으로 보고된 염색체 영역(3p14.1)에 위치하며, 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 다양한 아이소폼을 생성합니다.
