The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Relaxin 1 (also known as Relaxin or RLXH1) is a peptide hormone produced by the corpora lutea of the ovary during pregnancy in many mammals, including humans. It facilitates the birth process by softening the cervix and pubic symphysis and inhibiting uterine contractions. Relaxin 1 consists of two peptide chains (A and B) linked by disulfide bonds, synthesized as a single-chain precursor similar to insulin.
The human Relaxin 1 gene maps to chromosome 9. Relaxin 2, a related protein selectively expressed in the ovary during pregnancy, is encoded by a gene also located on chromosome 9.
