- Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis:
Human, Gorilla, Rabbit (100%); Gibbon, Monkey (94%); Marmoset, Mouse, Rat, Bovine, Dog, Elephant, Panda, Horse, Pig, Opossum (88%). - For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer.
After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the subtilisin-like proprotein convertase family. Members of this family process latent precursor proteins into their biologically active forms. This encoded protein is a calcium-dependent serine endoprotease that cleaves precursor proteins at paired basic amino acid processing sites. Known substrates include transforming growth factor beta-related proteins, proalbumin, and von Willebrand factor. This gene is thought to play a role in tumor progression. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
